Prime Minister Russell Dlamini who returned from representing His Majesty the King at a series of global engagement in New York, is off again, to Lesotho to represent His Majesty at the 58th independence anniversary and 200 years of the found of the Basotho Nation.
The King who normally attends the UN General Assembly Summit was engaged with the Umhlanga festival in Nhlangano.
In New York the Prime Minister met with United Nations Secretary-General AntĂłnio Guterres and updated him of current developments in Eswatini. He subsequently delivered the country statement at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGAS).
The Kingdom has been a member of the United Nations since independence and has benefited from the global partnership. The UN mobilized global partnerships to create the Global Fund that was instrumental in supporting Eswatini become the first to achieve the 95-95-95 HIV targets and thus a flagship for showing that a world without AIDS is possible.

While in New York, the Prime Minister and his wife Philile were hosted to a cocktail by US President Joe Biden and First Lady Dr Jill.
He also attended a Taiwan cocktail evening. Taiwan is close friend and development partner of the Kingdom. Eswatini is a leading champion of advocacy for Taiwan’s membership of the United Nations. The Prime Minister also met several important international institutions including the American Jewish Committee, the Hua Nan Commercial Bank, Carbon Derivatives Institute Inc. and the Africa Finance Corporation.
A highlight of the New York visit included participating in the high-level Unstoppable Africa event that brings together World leaders from business, government, finance, sports, and the creative arts to promote African ambitions of becoming a premier destination for business, trade, and investment.
Held on the sidelines of the UNGAS, the event emphasizes inclusive participation, focused dialogue, and actionable solutions
attracted over 2,000 leaders. Key topics included unlocking inclusive trade growth, Africa’s role in clean energy, digital advancements, and the global impact of African creativity and sports.
