MOTSHANE (8 May 2025): Indomitable Malanti Chiefs have bounced back to re-join the MTN Premier League in a remarkable campaign three seasons after they dropped out of the elite league.
Now top of the MTN First Division, Chiefs have proved too strong, setting a blazing pace that saw them 7 points clear of their nearest rival.
So convincing is their campaign that the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) was inspired to confirm them the 2024/25 MTN National First Division champions even before the season ends.

They will be crowned Champions this Saturday, 10th May 2025, during their match against Piggs Peak Rangers FC at Killarney Stadium, kicking off at 14:00 PM.
Malanti Chiefs FC have had a remarkable season, amassing 46 points at the top of the log, enough to secure the championship with one fixture still to play. Their nearest competitors, Lozitha Spurs FC and Amawele FC, both sit on 39 points.
The Premier League of Eswatini has invited all football supporters, particularly Malanti Chiefs fans and Piggs Peak Rangers FC, to come out and support their teams in what promises to be an exciting afternoon of football and celebration tomorrow.
Entrance fee: E20.00.
Chiefs have a remarkable fighting and winning spirit that drove them to shake off the odds and rise out of nowhere, and with almost nothing but an indomitable spirit to win.

Malanti, the community that produced Chiefs, is a hilly rural backwater south of Pigg’s Peak that apart from talent and inspirational leadership lacks even the most basic resources that most clubs take for granted.
Lacking even a sports ground, they were forced to migrate to near-by Motshane, 20 km away. Motshane, for all intents and purposes, has become their home base.
Malanti will wear their crown while the league even though the League continues to its official end next Saturday (17th May) fixture will serve as the official crowning occasion. Representatives from MTN Eswatini, the title sponsor of the MTN National First Division, alongside PLE officials, will be in attendance to formally recognise Malanti Chiefs FC as the champions of the 2024/25 season.
