ICT Minister launches corporate communication rebrand; unveils new government email system

EZULWINI: Government has launched a new corporate identity manual that will provide a blueprint for the visual presentation of all government communication. The manual was launched together with a new Government email system that will ensure that all government communication is carried on official emails.

Unveiling the manual yesterday, minister of information, communications, and technology Savannah Maziya called the development a “milestone in the pursuit of excellence in governance.”

“This moment marks a significant step in how we, as a government, intend to present ourselves to the citizens of Eswatini and to the world. The government corporate identity manual is not just a document; it is a comprehensive blueprint for our visual and communicative identity. It embodies our commitment to professionalism, integrity, and transparency,” she told an audience of government officials from the cross section of government at the Happy Valley Hotel.

“This manual will guide every logo, colour palette, typeface, and document format we use, ensuring that all government correspondence is consistent and reflects our core values while preserving our rich cultural heritage”.

Ms Maziya underlined that in a world where perception can significantly impact trust, the manual must serve as a tool that will enhance the credibility of the government. “Consistency in our projected identity engenders reliability, and reliability fosters trust. As we adopt these set standards across all government departments, we are reinforcing our commitment to serving the people of Eswatini with transparency and excellence.”

The minister urged all government departments to fully embrace the manual and adopt it as a symbol of system-unity and shared mission to serve the people of Eswatini so that different departments of government are seen to present a “unified front that reflects the integrity and values of our government.”

Minister Maziya is confidence that the re-introduction of a revamped government email system will effectively replace an older version that had been found wanting. “The old system was very unreliable.”

The new email system, the minister said, should be able to stand up to cyber threats and provide security of communications. “This revamped email system is not just a technical upgrade; it is a robust solution designed to safeguard our communications, ensuring that our data remains confidential and protected from external threats.”

“As we embrace this new system, I urge every government official to fully utilize and integrate it into their daily operations. Let it be a tool that enhances your work, strengthens our communications, and reflects our commitment to serving the people of Eswatini with excellence. By adhering to the highest standards of security and professionalism, we will protect our data and uphold the trust that our citizens have placed in us.”

The email system was developed by the Royal Science and Technology Park (RSTP) and will be hosted by the Eswatini Posts and Telecommunications Corporation (EPTC).
