Swallows in trouble, with Pirates, Red Rhinos

MBABANE (4 February 2025): MTN League defending champions, Mbabane Swallows along with Moneni Pirates and first division Red Rhinos have been hauled before the Premier League Disciplinary Committee to answer charges for their role in incidents of violence during recent matches.

The Premeir League Disciplinary Committee which is stting tonight, will hear allegations that Mbabane Swallows engaged in misconduct. They face two charges in connection with their match against Red Rhinos at the Mavuso Sports Centre on 4 January 2025 when Swallows fans allegedly blocked the dressing rooms and threatened match officials in violation of Article 7 (1)(K). The club is also charged under Article 7 (1)(g) in that they allegedly failed to control their supporters from committing the misconduct.

Moneni Pirates face three charges relating to their game against Ezulwini United, also on the 4th January at the Mavuso Sports Centre.

Pirates are charged under Article 7 (1)(c ) in that their player allegedly committed misconduct resulting in an assault.

The club is also charged with violating Article 7 (1)(g) of the 2024/24 MTN PLE League rules for failing to control their officials and players leading to an interruption of the match.

They are also charged with contravening Article 7 (1)(k) for the alleged failure of their players and officials to conduct themselves in an orderly manner.

Red Rhinos face two charges relating to their Manzini Club match on the 30th November 2024. Rhinos are charged under Article 7 (1)(d) of the MTN First Division League rules and regulations for the alleged use, by one of their officials of derogatory language against a referee.

The club is also charged under Article 7 (1)(k) for failing to control its players and officials to conduct themselves in an orderly manner.
